Alex Txikon, Jonatan García, Pasang Sherpa, Cheppal Sherpa and Kalden Sherpa have made the top at Ama Dablam (6,858m) today at 10:15 am local time. It has been a hard ascent, with strong wind, intense cold, hard work setting the route as they climbed, and some technical passages in complicated conditions. However, the five members of the expedition that had left by 430am of Field 3, have successfully completed the ascent. Then, they have returned to the Base Camp with remarkable speed.
The rest of the expedition members are in the Base Camp and wait for an opportunity, if the weather conditions permit, to also try to climb the mountain before the end of the expedition. As for Alex, the plan is to move to Everest, the ultimate goal of the Road to Himalayas expedition, at the beginning of February. There, he will try to climb Everest in winter, without artificial oxygen, along the Collado Sur route..
